Nutrition Programs at the Department of Health:
 
  • WIC Program Services provides supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education to low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and to infants and children up to age five who are found to be at nutritional risk.
  • For infants and children in child care, the Child Care Food Program provides participating child care centers, day care homes, and afterschool facilities with reimbursement for safely serving nutritious meals and snacks that meet program meal pattern requirements and are appetizing to children.
